Luke 7:1-10
The Centurion, knowing his wicked state before God, came full circle with the reality of who Jesus really was.
Vs.3 ”When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent to Him elders of the Jews, asking Him to come and heal his servant. 4 And when they came to Jesus, they pleaded with Him earnestly, saying, “He is worthy to have you do this for him, 5 for he loves our nation, and he is the one who built us our synagogue.” 6 And Jesus went with them. When he was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to Him, Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy for you to come under my roof, 7 Therefore I did not presume to come to you. But say the word, and let my servant be healed.”
Knowing full well that Jesus is who He claims to be, he calls out to Him in a sense of reverence. Knowing the worth of Jesus, he admits his unworthiness to even be in the presence of the Son of the Living God.
Oh, how amazing is it that Jesus knowing this man’s true unworthiness, insisted on going to this Centurion’s house. He always is the one who gets to us.
Our sins are forgiven, for His sake. Remember, He is love, therefore Christ bore all the wrath so we could walk in the freedom of His victory over sin and death knowing full well that we are justified. Clean. Redeemed. Adored and loved.
